Most weight lifters enjoy their bicep free weightlifting routines because the biceps it’s probably the most fun and most gratifying exercise to work.  It’s a muscle that’s very visible and many judge their strength through the size of biceps.  However, most don’t understand the importance of strong biceps to strengthening the rest of the muscles in the body.  Weight lifters need strong biceps to strengthen the rest of the body so that’s why it’s very important to include bicep exercises in any free weight training program that they use.

 

How does strong biceps strengthen the rest of the body?  Think about it, most weight lifting exercises involve using the arms in some way.  You have to pick up the weights, lifting the weights and put them back down.  Therefore, a majority of exercises need you to at least use the arms to perform the exercises.

 

There are some bicep exercises better than others that are a must to include in all free weightlifting routines.  These exercises work the biceps more effectively and efficiently than any other exercise.  The best bicep exercise is weight barbell curls as it targets the entire bicep, especially the outer portions.  Hammer curls with dumbbells are also a great exercise to use especially along with barbell curls because they target the top portion of the muscle.
